Covered up behind the leaders approaching the home turn, The Actuary quickened impressively once clear in the home straight and came home 1-1/4 lengths clear of Toscanini (Fastnet Rock) with Outburst (Real Impact) in third.
It is the second win from five starts for the Tony Gollan-trained The Actuary, a $450,000 yearling at the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale.
