Saturday’s Gr3 Red Anchor Stakes (1200m) for 3yos at Moonee Valley winner Generation is SW115 for Snitzel.
Relaxing just behind the early leader Dosh, Generation assumed control before the home turn and went clear, staying on strongly to defeat Scissor Step (Toronado) with Sudoko (Rubick) in third.
It is the third win from five starts for the Maher Eustace-trained Generation, previously third in the Gr3 Vain Stakes.
A $575,000 Magic Millions yearling purchase by Dermot Farrington from the Newgate draft at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast sale, Generation is a half-brother to Gr3 Kevin Hayes Stakes at Caulfield placed Pinkham (Written Tycoon), their dam Fontiton (Turffontein) winner of the Gr2 Blue Diamond Prelude and Gr3 Blue Diamond Preview.
Fontiton is a half-sister to Sartorial Splendor (Brazen Beau), also a winner of the 2019 Red Anchor Stakes.
The granddam Personal Ensign (Rubiton) won the Listed Morthwood Plume Stakes at Caulfield.
Generation is the eighth stakes winner from Snitzel’s 2018 crop headed by Gr1 winners In The Congo, Yearning and Sword Of State.
Gr1 winner Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice) is advertised at $165,000 at Arrowfield Stud in 2021.
