The 2017 New Zealand 1,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Hasahalo (Savabeel) established a new Australasian sales online record through the Gavelhouse platform on Monday when China Horse Club bid NZ$670,000 for the mare, beating out Arrowfield Stud.
The price-tag for the mare beats the previous record set by Group 1 winner Consensus (Postponed), who was purchased by Yulong Investments for NZ$622,500 on Gavelhouse in December.
The daughter of Savabeel (Zabeel) was purchased by Go Racing for NZ$110,000 at the 2016 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Yearling Sale and won two of her 18 starts, earning NZ$426,000.
