Santosha is the first SW for Coulsty after winning the Gr3 Princess Margaret Stakes (6f) at Ascot.
Covered up midfield to halfway, Santosha ran on strongly to come between horses and strike the front a furlong out, going on to defeat Hala Hala Hala (Exceed And Excel) by three-quarters of a length with Caroline Dale (Lethal Force) the same distance away in third.
She is the first foal out of the placed Princess Zoffany (Zoffany), a half-sister to four winners out of Tara Gold (Royal Academy), a winner in the UK and the US.
Tara Gold is a sister to Listed winner and Gr1-placed Gold Academy and half-sister to Wild Orchid (Giant’s Causeway), the dam of South African Listed winner Wild Ash (Dylan Thomas).
The fourth dam is Paris Royal (Mill Reef), winner of the then Gr1 Oaks d’Italia.
Santosha is 3×4 Danehill and Coulsty’s sire Kodiac (Danehill) has this year’s Gr3 Queen Mary Stakes winner Campanelle bred with a similar duplication.
Gr3 Prix de Meautry winner Coulsty currently has four first-crop winners and is advertised at €4,000 at Rathasker Stud in Ireland in 2020.
