Saturday’s Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot winner Inspirational Girl is the third Gr.1 winner for Reliable Man.
A little worse than midfield approaching the final turn in a fast run race through the early stages, Inspirational Girl was able to find clear running and then finished best of all to defeat Too Close The Sun (Carlton House) and Uni Time (Universal Ruler).
It is the ninth win from 11 starts for Inspirational Girl, placed in the other two, and her second stakes win.
Sold as a yearling for $190,000 from the Jamieson Park draft at the 2017 NZB Premier sale, Inspirational Girl is a half-sister to three winners including the Listed All Victorian Series Final Handicap winner Ruettiger (Duporth) and the Sydney winner Allez Bien (O’Reilly).
Their dam Be Inspired (Zabeel) a sister to Gr.3 Naturalism Stakes at Caulfield winner Rainbow Styling and to Midnight Special, the winning dam of Gr.2 Great Northern Guineas winner Demonetization (All Too Hard) and the dual Perth Listed winner Neverland (Big Brown).
Be Inspired is also a half-sister to Gr.3 Birthday Card Stakes winner Zingaling (Redoute’s Choice).
The granddam Done That (Centaine) won in Sydney and a half-sister to South African Gr2 winner Double Reef (Last Tycoon) and Gr2 Reisling Slipper Trial at Rosehill winner Star Of Nouvelle (Star Watch).
Winner of the Gr1 Prix du Jockey-Club and the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick in Australia, all three of Reliable Man’s Gr1 winners are female – VRC Oaks winner Miami Bound and New Zealand Oaks winner Miss Sentimental.
Reliable Man (Dalakhani) stands at Westbury Stud in New Zealand, where he was advertised at $15,000 in 2020, and will stand at Gestut Rottgen in Germany in 2021.
