Ridden across from a wide barrier to lead after 100m, Madam Legend was first into the home straight and fought on strongly under pressure over the concluding stages to defeat Mirra Vision (Lonhro) and Great News (Uncle Mo) in a driving finish.
It is the seventh win from 17 starts for the five-year-old, a $250,000 Inglis Australian Easter yearling purchase by Carmel Size for Hong Kong-based Bon Ho and now the winner of $405,650.
She is a half-sister to three winners, their dam Mithila (Encosta de Lago) an unraced three-quarter sister to Gr1 winner and sire Manhattan Rain, Gr2 winner and sire Niagara and Listed winner Echoes Of Heaven.
Mithila is also a half-sister to Celebria (Peintre Celebre), the winning dam of Gr1 Railway Stakes winner Gathering (Tale Of The Cat) and Gr3 winner Florentina (Redoute’s Choice).
