The Fabrice Chappet trained, OTI-owned 4yo struck the front 300m out and held off the late rally from Call The Wind to score by three-quarters of a length
Bred by Gestüt zur Kuste Ag, San Huberto sold to Guy Hubert for €70,000 at the Arqana August Yearling Sale, before being led out unsold for €75,000 at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale.
He is the second foal and winner out of the Gr3 Prix de Royaumont at Chantilly winner Sediciosa (Rail Link). She is a half-sister to the Listed-placed Suspicieuse (Elusive Quality), dam of Australian Gr2 winner Dubious (Not A Single Doubt).
The third dam Star Point (Shahrastani) is a half-sister to the Gr3 Prix du Calvados winner Fairy Path (Irish River) and the five-time Listed scorer and sire Neo Universe (Sunday Silence).
Speightstown has Gr1 Hollywood Derby winner Seek Again out of a mare by Danehill, the grandsire of San Huberto’s broodmare sire Rail Link.
Champion US sprinter in 2994, Speightstown stands at WinStar Farm in Kentucky.
