Jouska is SW2 for Cable Bay winning Saturday’s Boadicea Stakes (6f) for females at Newmarket.

Held up towards the rear, Jouska was held up by traffic passing halfway before finding room and running on strongly to comfortably defeat Sunday Star (Kodiac) by a half length with Jovial (Dubawi) third.

It is the second win from nine starts for the Henry Candy-trained Jouska, a 31,000gns Tattersalls December foal.

Jouska is a half-sister to four winners including Wasim (Acclamation), a winner in the UK and UAE and runner-up in the Listed The President Cup at Abu Dhabi.

Their dam Quiet Protest (Kingmambo) a winner in the USA and a half-sister to Listed Garnet Stakes at Naas winner Silk Forest (Kodiac) and German Listed placed Swooning (Raven’s Pass).

The granddam Rosa Parks (Sadler’s Wells) is inbred to Lalun through half-brothers Bold Reason and Never Bend. She was Listed placed in the UK and Italy and a sister to Irish Listed winner Mikado.

Gr2 winner Cable Bay (Invincible Spirit) was the leading first-season sire in GB/Ire in 2019. He is advertised at £15,000 at Highclere Stud in England in 2020 and also shuttles to Woodside Park Stud in Australia.
