Uncommon James came with a big finish in the home straight to overwhelm front-running Maotai (Not A Single Doubt) and score by a neck.
Inbred 4×5 to Danzig, his dam Pickabee (Jet Spur) won five races in Brisbane and placed in the Listed Juanmo Stakes. She is a sister to Listed Gucci Stakes at Flemington winner Emmalene.
His third-dam Adagietto (Sackford) won the Listed Waltzing Lily Quality at Flemington and a half-sister to Listed winner Captiva (Sir Tristram)
Cable Bay (Invincible Spirit) has 63 foals from his first Australian crop conceived at Woodside Park Stud in Victoria at a fee of $19,800.
Later on Saturday Atalis Bay became SW6 for Cable Bay winning the Scurry Stakes (5f) at Sandown in England when defeating Warrior Brave (Twilight Son) by three-quarters of a length.
