13 for Frankel

Hungry Heart is the 13th Gr1 winner for Frankel winning Saturday’s Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill.

Hungry Heart had beaten the boys over 1500m in the Gr2 Phar Lap Stakes at her previous start and handled the step up in distance here, coming from last at halfway to run down the longtime leader Harmony Rose inside the final 50m to score.

It is the third win from 11 starts for Hungry Heart, previously Gr1 placed in the Flight Stakes at Randwick in the spring.

Harlech is the first Southern Hemisphere conceived Gr1 winner for Frankel and his 13th overall. He also has champion Cracksman and Gr1 Falmouth Stakes winner Veracious out of mares by Pivotal

Frankel is advertised at £175,000 at Banstead Manor Stud in 2021.

Hungry Heart is the only named foal to date for Harlech (Pivotal), purchased by Yulong for 50,000gns at the 2016 Tattersalls December Sale.

Harlech is a half-sister to Gr3 Atalanta Stakes at Sandown winner Maamora (Dubawi), the granddam Zoowraa (Azamour)  the winner of the Listed Radley Stakes at Newbury.

The third-dam Beraysim (Lion Cavern) won the Listed Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood and the fourth dam Silk Braid (Danzig) winner of the Listed Premio Giovanni Falck at Milan and a half-sister to Gr1 Belmont and Preakness Stakes winner Risen Star (Secretariat).

Harlech’s 2019 filly by Snitzel is lot 328 at the Inglis Australian Easter yearling sale next week.
