General Beau is SW11 for Brazen Beau winning Tuesday’s Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) (1000m) at Caulfield.
Rated just behind the speed to the home turn, General Beau was presented with a clear run along the inside in the home straight and ran on well to defeat Extreme Warrior (Extreme Choice) and Gulf Of Suez (Fighting Sun).
Bred and raced by David Moodie’s Contract Racing, General Beau is now the winner of two of his three races, previously placed in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at Flemington on debut.
His dam Phosphorescence (Lonhro) raced once and is a half-sister to Maribyrnong Trial Stakes runner-up Double Jeopardy (Exceed And Excel).
The granddam Nediym’s Glow (General Nediym) won twice at Gr3 level at two including the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes at Flemington and a half-sister to Gr3 Victoria Handicap at Caulfield winner Red Colossus (Testa Rossa).
Gr1 winner Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible) has Gr2 winner North Pacific with Lonhro’s sire Octagonal as his maternal grandsire.
