Cadillac is SW74 for Lope de Vega after winning Saturday’s Gr2 Golden Fleece Stakes (8f) for 2yos at Leopardstown.
Cadillac was third to the home turn and then powered home to defeat Van Gogh (American Pharoah) by 3-1/2 lengths with Reve de Vol (Siyouni) a further 2-3/4 lengths away in third.
It is the second win from three starts for the Jessica Harrington-trained Cadillac which sold for €40,000 as a Goffs Orby yearling.
Cadillac’s dam Seas Of Wells (Dansili) won in Ireland and finished fourth in the Gr3 Ballyogan Stakes at Leopardstown.
She is a three-quarter sister to Gr2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster winner and sire Requinto (Dansili) Requinto (Dansili)
Dual French Classic winner Lope de Vega has enjoyed good success with mares from the Danehill sire-line, notably Gr1 Capla Temptress and Gr3 Lope Y Fernandez out of mares by Dansili as well as Gr1 winners Santa Ana Lane (Fastnet Rock), Newspaperofrecord (Holy Roman Emperor), Belardo (Danehill), Gytrash (Fastnet Rock) as well as SWs Very Special (Danehill), Antonia de Vega (Duke Of Marmalade), Feliciana de Vega (Oratorio), Vegadaze (Commands), Ecrivain (Danehill Dancer), Royal Razalma (Flying Spur) etc.
