6 for Olympic Glory

Saturday’s Gr3 Astra Stakes (12f) at Santa Anita winner Quick is SW6 for Olympic Glory.

Having settled in fourth place past halfway, Quick made a move three-wide off the back stretch to reach the led into the home straight and then held off the late charge on her inside from Hermaphrodite (Le Havre) and score by a nose with Altea (Siyouni) a further 2 1/4-lengths back in third.

It is the fourth win from 16 starts for Quick, a 17,000gns Tattersalls October yearling and then sold for 32,000gns as a three-year-old at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses-in-Training sale.

Quick is one of two winners out of The Giving Tree (Rock Of Gibraltar), a winning three-quarter sister to Gr3 Park Express Stakes third Starbright (Duke Of Marmalade).

The granddam Starry Messenger (Galileo) won in the UK and a half-sister to Gr1 Gamely Stakes at Hollywood Park winner Tuscan Evening (Oasis Dream) and Listed Nowel Murless Stakes at Newmarket winner Barbican (Hurricane Run)

Quick is 4×3 Danehill and Olympic Glory has Gr1 Coronation Stakes winner Watch Me out of a Galileo, Quick’s maternal grandsire, mare.

Olympic Glory (Choisir) is advertised at €5000 at Haras de Bouquetot in 2021.
