Savvy Nine is SW6 for Anodin winning Wednesday’s Gr3 January Cup (1800m) at Happy Valley.
Settled behind the early speed to the home turn, Savvy Nine was presented to challenge early in the home straight and finished best to defeat Glorious Dragon (Teofilo) by three-quarters of a length with Singapore Sling (Philanthropist) in third.
Gr3-placed in France when racing as Insandi, Savvy Nine sold for €470,000 at the 2018 Arqana Arc sale and is now the winner of two of his 22 starts.
He is a half-brother four winners including Listed Prix de Californie at Cagnes-sur-Mer winner Courcy (Mizzen Mast).
Their dam Inshan Mala (Bahhare) won three times in the USA and Ireland including the Listed Tenski Stakes at Saratoga.
The third-dam Madame Claude (Paris House) is a winning half-sister to Listed winner Nashcash (Nashamaa).
Gr3 winner Anodin (Anabaa) stands at Haras du Quesnay where he is advertised at €7000.
