Ventura Tormenta made much of the running then held off The Lir Jet (Prince Of Lir) to score by a short-head with Tiger Tanaka (Clodovil) a neck away third in a driving finish to the four horse field.
It is the second win from four starts for Ventura Tormenta, sold for 40,000gns as a Tattersalls December foal then £95,000 as a Goffs UK Premier yearling when purchased by Petter and Ross Doyle.
Ventura Tormenta is the best of seven winners so far for his dam Midnight Oasis (Oasis Dream), a three-quarter sister to Irish Listed winner Minalisa and Midnight Hush, the dam of UK Listed winner Mubtasimah (Dark Angel).
Midnight Oasis is also a half-sister to Gr3 Ballyogan Stakes at The Curragh winner Miss Anabaa (Anabaa), the granddam of UK Listed winner Enjazaat (Acclamation).
The granddam Midnight Shift (Night Shift) is a winning half-sister to Gr1 winner Owington.
Gr2 winner Acclamation (Royal Applause) has Gr2 winner Lilbourne Lad out of a mare by Green Desert and his son Dark Angel has Gr3 winners Yafta and Dark Lady out of mares by Oasis Dream (Green Desert).
Acclamation is advertised at €35,000 at Rathbarry Stud in Ireland in 2020.
