Glycon is SW39 for Le Havre after winning Sunday’s La Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte at ParisLongchamp.

Glycon was settled in last place to the home turn before being brought wide and making a sustained run to get up in the final strides and defeat last year’s winner Villa Rosa (Doctor Dino) and Les Vertus (Shakespearean) in a bunched finish.

The Haras de Saint Pair du Mont homebred Glycon is now the winner of four of his five starts.

He is one of three winners out of Prix Finlande at Longchamp winner and Poule d’Essai des Pouliches and Prix de Diane placed Glorious Sight (Singspiel), a half-sister to Gr2 Prix du Gros-Chene at Chantilly winner Beauty Is Truth (Pivotal), the dam of Australian Gr1 winner The United States (Galileo), Irish 1000 Gns winner Hermosa (Galileo) and dual Gr1 winner Hydrangea (Galileo).

Prix du Jockey-Club winner Le Havre (Noverre) is also the sire of Gr1 winner Suedois out of a mare by Singspiel (In The Wings) and has Gr2 winner Auvray out of a mare by In The Wings (Sadler’s Wells) with North American Gr2 winner Rymska with In The Wings as her maternal grandsire.

He is advertised at €50,000 at Haras de Montfort & Preaux in 2020.
