Vaucelles is SW36 for Le Havre after winning Tuesday’s Gr2 Prix de Malleret (2400m) at ParisLongchamp.
Vaucelles was ridden along into the home straight and gradually wore down front running Oriental Mystique (Kingman) to score by three-quarters of a length with Mozzarella (Power) third in the field of five.
Bred and raced by Gerard Augustin-Normand, Vaucelles finished fourth in the Gr1 Prix Saint-Alary last time out and appreciated the extra distance here and has now won two of her three starts.
She is the only winner to date out of Vaunoise (Teofilo), a winner at Chantilly and Deauville and Listed placed in the Prix Miss Satamixa and Prix Finlande.
Vaunoise is a sister to Hong Kong Gr3-placed Glorious Dragon and a half-sister to Gr3 Prix las Force placed Beauvoir (Footstepsinthesand).
Le Havre is also the sire of Prix de Diane and Poule d’Essai des Pouliches winner La Cressonniere out of mare by Galilo, the sire of Vaucelles broodmare sire Teofilo.
