Shale is SW323 for Galileo after winning the Gr3 Silver Flash Stakes (7f) at Leopardstown.
Shale raced in second place behind pacesetter Finest before coming to challenge for the lead around the home turn and then stayed on well to defeat Pretty Gorgeous (Lawman) by 1-1/2 lengths with A Ma Chere (Kodiac) another 3-1/2 lengths off in third.
Shale is a sister to the Listed-placed pair Berkeley Square and First Of Spring, their dam Homecoming Queen (Holy Roman Emperor) winner of the 2012 1000 Guineas.
Homecoming Queen is a three-quarter sister to Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner and sire Dylan Thomas (Danehill) and half-sister to Gr1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Queen’s Logic (Grand Lodge), the dam of Gr2 winner Lady Of The Desert (Rahy).
Another half-sister is Listed placed Remember When (Danehill Dancer), the dam of five stakes winners including this year’s The Derby winner Serpentine (Galileo).
