Monday’s Cairn Rouge Stakes (1 mile) at Killarney winner Lovelier is SW321 for Galileo.
Lovelier came into the race a maiden after failing to place in two previous stakes but finished best of all to defeat Celestial Object (Galileo) by one length going away with Kassaba (Charm Spirit) a half length off third.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained Lovelier is a sister to four-time Gr1 winner Winter, whose wins included the Irish 1000 Gns and Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The dam Laddies Poker Two (Choisir) won the Wokingham Handicap at Royal Ascot while the fourth dam is Gr1 Prix Morny winner Ancient Regime (Olden Times), a sister to Gr1 Cricket Ball.
Lovelier is the 18th stakes winner for Choisir (Danehill Dancer) as a broodmare sire and Galileo has enjoyed great success with mares from the Danehill line, notably Gr1 Frankel, Anthony Van Dyck, Highland Reel, Circus Maximus, Golden Lilac, Intello, Magic Wand, The Gurkha, Minding, Noble Mission and Serpentine.
