Night Raid is the second SW for Vancouver following her victory in Saturday’s Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) for 3yo fillies at Moonee Valley.
Night Raid was parked behind the leaders approaching the home turn and was then able to come through between horses over the concluding stages to defeat Aidensfield (Dissident) and Dirty Thoughts (So You Think) in a driving finish.
It is the second win from three starts for Night Raid, purchased as a yearling by co-trainer Mick Price and Sheamus Mills for $160,000 as a Magic millions Gold Coast yearling.
She is a half-sister to South Africa winner and Gr3 placed Mujallad (Redoute’s Choice) and Macau Listed placed Chromium Alloy (Testa Rossa).
Their dam Raid (Pins) winner of the Listed Lion Red Plate at Rotorua and a sister to Purely Spectacular, the dam of Gr1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes winner Stratum Star (Stratum) and Gr3 Canonbury Stakes winner Prague (Redoute’s Choice).
Golden Slipper Stakes winner Vancouver (Medaglia d’Oro) shuttles between Coolmore Studs in New South Wales and Kentucky.
