19 for Nathaniel

Alkandora broke her maiden bravely in Thursday’s Prix Melisande (2100m) at ParisLongchamp to become SW19 for Nathaniel.

Settled just behind a moderate early pace, Alkandora came between horses in the straight and just held Moon A Lisa (Sea The Moon) in a driving finish to score by a nose.

Alkandora sold for 85,000gns as a Tattersalls October yearling. Her dam Poplin (Medicean) won at two and placed in the Listed Severals Stakes at Newmarket. She is a half-sister to Australian Listed winner Dr Drill (Dansili) and UK Listed winner Pinzolo (Monsun).

The granddam Pongee (Barathea) won the Gr2 Lancashire Oaks.

Alkandora is inbred 3×4 to Sadler’s Wells and Nathaniel (Galileo) has champion Enable out of a Sadler’s Wells mare.

Nathaniel is advertised at £25,000 at Newsells Park Stud in England in 2020.
