12 for Wootton Bassett

Dream Works led all the way to win Thursday’s four runner Prix Ridgeway (2000m) at ParisLongchamp and become SW12 for Wootton Bassett.

Allowed to dictate, Christophe Soumillon picked up the pace into the home straight and Dream Works stayed on strongly to defeat Hayzum (Anodin) by three-quarters of a length with Bright Nose (Dubawi) a nose away third.

Bred by Skymarc Farm, Dream Works sold for €110,000 as an Arqana August yearling. He is a half-brother to the Gr3 Prix de Ris-Orangis winner King Malpic (King’s Best).

His dam Sablonniere (Verglas) was unraced and a half-sister to French Listed placed Xaarienne (Xaar), the dam of French Listed winner Xaarino (Kendargent).

Gr1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Wootton Bassett (Iffraaj) has his Gr1 winning son Almanzor at stud and currently has 98 winners from 191 runners.

He is advertised at €40,000 at Haras d’Etreham in 2020.
