Gr3 Derrinstown Derby Trial at Leopardstown winner Cormorant is SW19 for Kingman.
Cormorant sold for 135,000gns as a foal at Tattersalls and then 1,050,000gns as a yearling in the same Newmarket ring to the bid of M V Magnier.
Cormorant’s dam Shemya (Dansili) was offered for sale by HH the Aga Khan after winning at Chantilly in 2014 and sold to Blandford Bloodstock for €160,000 at the Arqana December Sale in Deauville.
The granddam Shemima (Dalakhani) won the Gr3 Prix de Lutece at Longchamp and the Gr3 Prix Allez France at Chantilly while the next dam Shemaka (Nishapour) won the Prix de Diane.
Cormorant is inbred 4×4 to Danzig and Kingman has Gr1 Persian King on a similar Danehill cross.
Gr1 winner Kingman (Invincible Spirit) is advertised at £150,000 at Banstead Manor Stud, Newmarket, in 2020.
