Love gave Aidan O’Brien his fourth winner of the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in the last five years with a clear win in the Classic on Sunday.
Allowed to find her stride early by Ryan Moore, Love chimed in with her challenge two furlongs out and then quickened away to win comfortably, defeating Cloak Of Spirits by 3-1/4 lengths and the favourite Quadrilateral a head away third.
It is the 12th win in a British Classic for the jockey, who told ITV he was always in control of the race.
“She’s a very uncomplicated filly, we’ve always thought a lot of her,” Moore said. “She was in control of this race from a long way out. She won as she liked, really.”
Aidan O’Brien, confined to home base due to the COVID-19 restrictions, hinted there was even more to come from the daughter of Galileo.
“We always thought that the Oaks was going to suit her very well and the Guineas was going to be her start-off,” O’Brien said.
“We always thought she would stay very well but this was a nice starting point for her. The distance to the Oaks should be perfect.”
Bookmakers have instilled the Coolmore homebred as the hot favourite for the second fillies’ Classic of the season, the Oaks at Epsom next month.
