Chindit is SW13 for Wootton Bassett after remaining unbeaten in Saturday’s Pat Eddery Stakes (7f) at Ascot.
Reserved off the early speed, Chindit came through smoothly to close between horses and defeat Cobh (Kodiac) by 1-3/4 lengths with Naval Crown (Dubawi) back in third.
A 65,000gns Tattersalls October Book3 yearling purchase by Peter and Ross Doyle, Chindit has now won both his races.
Inbred 4×4 to Gone West, he is the only named foal of his winning dam Alway’s A Dream (Oasis Dream), his granddam Always Remembered (Galileo) an unraced half-sister to The Derby winner Motivator (Montjeu), Gr3 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot winner Macarthur (Montjeu) and UK Listed winner Imperial Star (Fantastic Light).
The third-dam Out West (Gone West) won the Conqueror Stakes at Goodwood and voted Broodmare of the Year in Great Britain in 2005.
Champion French 2yo Wootton Bassett is advertised at €40,000 at Haras d’Etreham in France in 2020.
