A share in leading French sire Le Havre offered online by Arqana has been sold for €300,000.
The sale generated 10 bids between five different bidders, the final bid on the 1/50th share by Montfort et Préaux, acting as agent for an as-yet unknown client, values the 14-year-old at €15 million.
A share in Le Havre sold for €355,000 in an Arqana online auction in 2016 to the bid of China Horse Club.
Winner of the 2009 Gr1 Prix du Jockey-Club, Le Havre is the sire of 34 stakes winners highlighted by Gr1 winners Avenir Certain, Suedois, La Cressonniere and Villa Marina.
He stood his first season at stud in 2010 at a fee of €5,000, Le Havre is advertised at Haras Montfort et Préaux for €50,000 this year.
