Red Flag is the first SW for Tamarkuz winning Sunday’s Gr3 Bob Hope Stakes (7f) for 2yos at Del Mar.
Racing for a share of the early lead, Red Flag was able to accelerate clear when there was a scrimmage between Coastal Kid and the favourite Spielberg passing halfway, going on to defeat Uncle Boogie (Ride On Curlin) by 7-1/4 lengths lengths with Ambivalent (Constitution) in third.
Stewards enquired into the incident but made mo change to the finishing order.

The granddam Beaucette (Mr Prospector) won three times and Listed-placed in USA, she a three-quarter sister to Japanese Gr3 winner Seeking The Best (Seeking The Gold) and a half-sister to Gr2 Arlington Classic winner Mr Mellon (Red Ransom).
Beaucette is also a half-sister to Montfleur (Sadler’s Wells), the dam of Australian Gr1 winner Mawingo (Tertullian).
Red Flag’s third-dam is Gr3 Busher Stakes winner and Gr1 Ashland Stakes third Mackie (Summer Squall), a half-sister to six stakes winners including Kentucky Derby winner and sire Sea Hero (Polish Navy) and Gr1 Bowling Green Handicap winner and sire Hero’s Honor (Northern Dancer).
Tamarkuz (Speightstown) won the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile at six. He stands at Shadwell Stud in Kentucky and his oldest offspring are 2yos of 2020.
