First for Spill The Beans

Tellall is the first SW for Spill The Beans winning Saturday’s Trevor Eagle Memorial 3YO (1500m) at Ellerslie.

Settled in second place to the home turn, Tellall accelerated smoothly into the lead early in the home straight and then stayed on strongly to defeat Helsinki (Savabeel) and Fleetwood Maca (Rock ‘n’ Pop).

It is the third win from four starts for the John and Margaret Thompson-owned gelding, a $45,000 Magic Millions weanling purchase from Kenmore Lodge by Paul Willetts, whose only defeat came on debut at two when finishing second over 1200m at Avondale.

Inbred 4×3 to Danehill, he is the third winner from as many foals to race for Devil’s Angel (Danehill Dancer) and the granddam Luskin L’Etoile (Luskin Star) won six races including three in Sydney.

The third-dam Starway Lady (Star Way) a half-sister to Gr3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes at Caulfield Third Pinpante (Al Hareb), the dam of Perth Listed winner Pantenny (Canny Lad).

The fourth dam Purple Maze (In The Purple) won the Listed Reginald Allen Handicap at Randwick at two.

Gr2 QTC Cup winner Spill The Beans (Snitzel) died in November 2019 at Aquis Farm in Queensland and also shuttled to England for a season.
