First for Belardo

Isabella Giles is the first SW for Belardo after winning Saturday’s Gr3 Prestige Stakes (7f) for 2yo fillies at Goodwood.

Isabella Giles coped easily with the testing conditions and came right away over the concluding stages to defeat Prado (Iffraaj) by seven lengths with Seattle Rock (Fastnet Rock) in third.

A €45,000 Goffs Sportsman’s Sale yearling purchase by Kevin Ross, Isabella Giles is now the winner of three of her starts.

She is a half-sister to dual German Listed winner Majestic Colt (Clodovil), their dam Majestic Dubawi (Dubawi) winner of the Gr3 Firth Of Clyde Stakes at Ayr winner.

The granddam Tidal Chorus (Singspiel) is a half-sister to Prix de Saint-Cyr at Longchamp winner South Rock (Rock City).

Champion 2yo colt in Europe in 2014, Belardo (Lope de Vega) won twice at Gr1 level. He stands at Kildangan Stud in Ireland where he is advertised at €10,000 in 2020 and shuttles to Haunui Farm in New Zealand.
