Juddmonte-homebred Acanella is SW149 for Dansili winning Friday’s Gr3 Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes (9f) at The Curragh.
Settled in behind the early speed set by Flirting Bridge, Acanella was rousted along three furlongs out to challenge, striking the front with a furlong to go and then holding off Champers Elysees (Elzaam) to score by three-quarters of a length with Oodnadatta (Australia) the same distance away third. It is the second win from six starts for Acanella, a three-quarter sister to five-time Gr1 winner Flintshire and French Listed winner Dance Moves, both by Dansili.
Acanella’s dam Across The Floor (Oasis Dream) is a half-sister to Flintshire, Dance Moves and Deliberate (King’s Best), a winner at Deauville and the dam of US Gr2 winner Projected (Showcasing) and French Gr2 winner Headman (Kingman).
The granddam Dance Routine (Sadler’s Wells) won the Gr2 Prix de Royallieu and finished runner-up in the Prix de Diane.
The sire of 22 Gr1 winners, Dansili was pensioned from stud duties at Juddmonte Farm’s Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket in 2018.
