Irish-bred Fifty Stars made it Group wins on consecutive Saturday’s at Flemington with a strong win in the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m).

A 110,000 guineas purchase by Queensland-based agent John Foote out of the Airlie Stud draft at the 2016 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Fifty Stars is the 13th Gr.1 winner for Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) who also has Gr.1 Epsom Oaks and Gr.1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Taghrooda and Gr.2 winners Knight To Behold, Raa Atoll and Storm The Stars out of mares by Sadler’s Wells (Northern Dancer).

Sea The Stars champion stayer son Stradivarius has Sadler’s Wells as his maternal grandsire as does French Group 1 winner Zelzal.

Fifty Stars granddam is by Darshaan and Sea The Stars has the dual Derby winner Harzand out of a daughter of Darshaan (ShirleyHeights) while Royal Ascot Group 1 winner Crystal Ocean has Mark Of Esteem as his maternal grandsire.

Fifty Stars is a half-brother to Whiskey Sour (Jeremy), a winner on the flat and over hurdles in Ireland, their dam Swizzle Stick (Sadler’s Wells), an unraced half-sister to Champion Older Female Sprinter in Ireland in 2014 and winner of the Gr.2 Park Stakes at Doncaster Viztoria (Oratorio).

The granddam Viz (Darshaan) won twice in Italy including the L.R. Premio Giovanni Falck at Milan and Fifty Stars is descended from the Colleen Stakes winner Lady Be Good (Better Self).
