Rougir is the second SW and first Group winner for Territories winning Tuesday’s Gr3 Prix des Reservoirs (1600m) for 2yo fillies at Deauville.
Covered up in midfield to the home straight, Rougir let down strongly to strike the front 100m out and was then all out to defeat Cirona (Maxios) by a neck with Sky Sister (Maxios) the same distance away in third.
It is the third win from six starts for Rougir, a €11.000 Arqana December foal then sold for €55,000 as an Arqana Deauville August yearling and previously third in the Gr1 Prix Marcel Boussac at ParisLongchamp.
She is a half-sister to Svenson (Blame), a winner in Poland and Czechoslovakia, their dam Summer Moon (Elusive City) a winner at Deauville and Listed placed in the Prix Coronation at Deauville.
The granddam Kalatuna (Green Tune) won three races in France and second in the Gr3 Prix de Royaumont at Chantilly.
