The victory of Missybeel in the Gr 3 Epona Stakes at Rosehill makes her the 99th stakes winner for Savabeel.
Bred on the same O’Reilly (Last Tycoon) cross as Gr1 winners Costume, Diademe, Embellish and Savaria, Missybeel was winning for the sixth time.
Missybeel sold for A$210,000 at the Inglis Australian Easter yearling sale and is a sister to the three-time winner Loveseat.
Their dam Sitting Pretty is an unraced daughter of O’Reilly and a half-sister to the four-time Group One winner Metal Bender (Danasinga).
It is also the family of the Gr 1 winner and successful sire Keeper (Danehill) and Gr3 Aurie’s Star Handicap winner Broken (Halo Homewrecker).
Rising 19, Savabeel was advertised as ‘Private’ at Waikato Stud in New Zealand last season. He has 20 Gr1 winners headed by champions Lucia Valentina, Kawi and Sangster and as a broodmare sire is responsible for this season’s New Zealand juvenile Group winner Not An Option (Not A Single Doubt).
