Juanmo Stakes (1350m) at Doomben winner Shalwa is SW96 for O’Reilly.
Shalwa is the only foal to race out of Furoon (Elusive Quality), a sister to Sydney winner Unconditional Love, the dam of Gr2 Matriarch Stakes at Flemington winner Jessy Belle (Rock Of Gibraltar).
The granddam Flitter (Bluebird) was named Champion Older Mare in Australia 1993-94 and winner of the Gr1 Doomben 10,000 and Winfield Classic.
Horse of the Year in NZ in 1996-97, Champion Sprinter & Miler in NZ in 1996-97, O’Reilly (Last Tycoon) won the Gr1 Telegraph Handicap at Trentham and the Gr1 Bayer Classic at Levin.
His 15 Gr1 winners are headed by New Zealand Derby winner Silent Achiever and Toorak Handicap winner and sire Alamosa.
He was found dead in his paddock at Waikato Stud from a suspected heart attack in December 2014, aged 21.
