A US$275,000 Keeneland September yearling which then sold for €1,100,000 as an Arqana 2yo, Ocean Atlantique is the best of two winners for his dam Tare Green (Giant’s Causeway), an unraced half-sister to Champion US Turf Male of 2005 Lesroidesanimaux (Candy Stripes), winner of the Gr1 Atto Mile at Woodbine and sire and Brazilian Gr1 winner Uapybo (Blush Rambler).
The granddam Dissemble (Ahonoora) is also unraced and a half-sister to French Listed winner Hasili (Kahyasi), the dam of Gr1 winners Banks Hill, Cacique, Champs Elysees, Heat Haze and Intercontinental and Gr2 winner and successful sire Dansili.
Horse of the Year in the US in 2018, American Pharoah won the Gr1 Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes.
Retired to stud in North America in 2016 he has stakes winners in the USA, France and Japan from his first-crop, Ocean Atlantique is 4×2 Storm Cat and American Pharoah has Gr2 Sweet Melania bred with a similar duplication.
Shuttling to Coolmore Stud in New South Wales where his oldest offspring are yearlings. His fee in 2020 is advertised at A$55,000.
