Kalahara is SW 57 and the 40th Group winner for Frankel after winning Thursday’s Prix d’Arenberg (100m) at ParisLongchamp.
Kalahara was slow into stride and last early as the Wesley Ward-trained Wink blazed a trail before finding her stride passing halfway and finishing best of all to defeat Wink (Midshipman) by one length with Livachope (Goken) another two lengths away third.
It is the second win from four starts for the Wertheimer homebred Kalahara.
Inbred 4×3 to Danzig, Kalahara is a half-sister to the Gr3 Prix Eclipse at Chantilly winner Sasparella (Shamardal) and three other winners out of Desertiste (Green Desert), a winning sister to dual Gr3 winning sprinter Only Answer.
Desertiste is also a half-sister to dual Gr1 winner Mondialiste (Galileo) and Gr2 Prix Sandringham at Chantilly winner Impressionnante (Danehill), the dam of Gr1 Prix du Jockey-Club winner and sire Intello (Galileo)
The granddam Occupandiste (Kaldoun) won six races including the Gr1 Prix de la Foret at Longchamp and the Gr1 Prix Maurice de Gheest.
Frankel is also the sire of Gr3 winner Mirage Dancer out of a Green Desert mare and has Gr2 winner Obligate and Gr3 winner Delaware out of mares by Oasis Dream (Green Desert).
