51 for Heart’s Cry

Victipharus is SW51 for Heart’s Cry winning Sunday’s Gr2 Fuji TV Sho Spring Stakes (1800m) for 3yos at Nakayama.

Wide into the first turn and then settled well back, Victipharus unleashed a big finish in the home straight to defeat Asamano Itazura (Victoire Pisa) a head and the favourite Boden (Harbinger) a further 1-3/4 lengths away third.

It is the second win from three starts for the Northern Farm-bred Victipharus, one of two winners out of Virginia (Galileo), a winning sister to Australian Gr1 winner Seville.

The granddam Silverskaya (Silver Hawk) won the Gr3 Prix de Royaumont and Gr3 Prix Minerve and a half-sister to Gr2 Prix d’Astarte winner Daneskaya (Danehill), the dam of Japanese stakes winner Six Sense (Sunday Silence).

Silverskaya is also a half-sister to US Listed winner Mumtaz (Kaldoun) as well as Sur Ma Vie (Fusaichi Pegasus), the granddam of Gr2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte winner Sans Equivoque (Stormy River).

Champion Heart’s Cry (Sunday Silence) stands at Shadai Stallion Station on Hokkaido.
