Finance Tycoon is SW38 for Written Tycoon winning Tuesday’s Gr3 Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) at Flemington.
Fitted with blinkers for his second start, Finance Tycoon bounced out quickly and led on the inside rail, finding plenty when challenged by the favourite Ingratiating (Frosted) over the final 300m to score by half a head with Marine One (Capitalist) three lengths off in third.
Finance Tycoon failed to sell as a weanling before making $150,000 as a Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling to Johnny McKeever.
Finance Tycoon’s dam Darook Park (Darci Brahma) a winning half-sister to Silk Pins (Pins), a winner at Ellerslie at two and placed third in the Gr1 Diamond Stakes at Ellerslie, and to Gypsy Tucker, the dam of Gr2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic winner Gypsy Diamond (Not A Single Doubt), also finishing runner-up in the Gr1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes at Rosehill.
