Port Guillaume is SW37 for Le Havre after winning Saturday’s Gr2 Prix Hocquart (2500m) at Deauville.
A creditable fifth in the Prix du Jockey-Club last time out, Port Guillaume appreciated the step up in distance and after striking the front 200m stayed on strongly to defeat Ketil (Karakontie) by three lengths with Pao Alto (Intello) a nose away third.
A €55,000 Arqana Deauville August yearling, Port Guillaume has now won four of his five starts.
He is a brother to the Listed Prix Pelleas at Compiegne winner Aubevoye and half-brother to the winner Houseville (Rajsaman).
They are out of four-time winner Keira (Turtle Bowl), a sister to the Group-placed pair Anahita and Lakalas and a half-sister to Listed winner Shutterbug (Soldier Of Fortune).
The granddam Nazlia (Polish Precedent) is a winning half-sister to Listed-placed
Nizamabad (Gold Away) and to Nasrine (Barathea), the dam of this season’s German Gr3 winner and Gr2 German 1,000 Guineas runner-up No Limit Credit (Night Of Thunder).
