Bolshoi Ballet is SW333 for Galileo emulating his sire Galileo winning Sunday’s Gr3 Ballysax Stakes (10f) for 3yos at Leopardstown.
Bolshoi Ballet started favourite with punters and was settled second by Ryan Moore as Catena Zapata set a moderate tempo.
Sent on two furlongs out, Bolshoi Ballet galloped all the way to the line to score by 2 1/4 lengths over Flying Visit (Pride of Dubai) with Taipan (Frankel) a nose away third.
It is the second win from four starts for Bolshoi Ballet, a brother to Gr2 Sandown Classic and Gr3 Irish St Leger Trial winner Southern France, also third in both the Gr1 English and Irish St Legers, and to What Say You (Galileo), the dam of the Gr2 Miss Grillo Stakes third Editor At Large (Lope de Vega).
The unraced dam Alta Anna (Anabaa) is a sister to Anna Deese, the unraced granddam of Irish Listed winner Sir Boris (Due Diligence) and half-sister to Gr3 Prix Penelope winner and Gr1 Prix de Diane runner-up Abbatiale (Kaldoun), dam of four-time Irish Gr3 winner Bewitched (Dansili), herself the dam of Gr3 Glorious Stakes at Goodwood winner Pablo Escobarr (Galileo) and Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at The Curragh third Oodnadatta by Australia (Galileo).
Alta Anna is also a sister to Listed Prix Rose de Mai at Saint-Cloud winner Aubergade and half-sister Attachante, by another son of Galileo in Teofilo and the dam of last year’s Gr3 Dortmund Grand Prix winner Aviateur (Intense Focus).
