Pretty Gorgeous is SW33 for Lawman after winning Saturday’s Gr2 Debutante Stakes (&f) at The Curragh.
Settled in fourth place early, Pretty Gorgeous quickened into the lead two furlongs out and stayed on best of all to defeat Shale (Galileo) by 2-1/2 lengths with Mother Earth (Zoffany) the same distance away in third.
Purchased as a €55,000 Arqana December foal by Margaret O’Toole, Pretty Gorgeous sold for 525,000gns as a Tattersalls October Yearling Book 1 to the bid of Joseph O’Brien when consigned by Glenvale Stud.
She is a half-sister to French Listed winner Alwaab (Toronado), their dam Lady Gorgeous (Compton Place) a winner at two in the UK and Listed placed in the Surrey Stakes at Epsom.
Lady Gorgeous is a half-sister to the Longchamp winner and Gr2 placed Kartica (Rainbow Quest), the dam of Gr1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot winner Qemah (Danehill Dancer).
The granddam is Listed winner Cayman Sunset (Night Shift).
Prix du Jockey-Club winner Lawman (Invincible Spirit) commenced his stud career at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland and now stands at the Haras de Grandcamp in France where he is advertised at €10,000 in 2020.
