Zee Falls is SW3 for Sacred Falls winning Thursday’s Gr3 Wellington Stakes (1600m) for 3yos at Otaki.
Zee Falls took a keen hold early when racing wide, settled in second place to the home turn where she came under pressure, staying on gamely to overwhelm Key (Exceed And Excel) by three-quarters of a length with White Lightning (Reliable Man) another 1-1/4 lengths away in third on the heavy track.

It is the first win from four starts for the Chittick Investments Ltd-bred Zee Falls, the only foal to race of the Brisbane winner Zelitist (Zabeel).
Zelitist is a half-sister to Gr1 Diamond Stakes at Ellerslie winner and NZ 2000 Guineas third Warhorse (General Nediym) and to the Listed-placed Epona Princess (Fastnet Rock).
The granddam Rathlin Island (Giant’s Causeway) is an unraced half-sister to dual Gr2 winning sprinter California Dane (Danehill).
The fifth dam is Pageant Handicap and Blue Hen Stakes winner Turn To Talent (Turn-to)
Dual Gr1 winner Sacred Falls died in December 2019 as a result of a liver disease. He is also the sire as this season’s NZ 2000 Gns winner Gr1 Aegon out of a mare by Zabeel.
