It is the seventh win from 50 starts for the 8yo Travimyfriend, previously Gr1 placed in New Zealand.
Inbred 3×3 to Sadler’s Wells, Travimyfriend is a half-brother to Gr3 Wellington Stakes at Levin winner Matchbreaker (Makfi) and the Welcome Stakes at Christchurch winner Dancer’s Tale (Tale Of The Cat).
Their dam Pineau (Carnegie) a winner in New Zealand and a half-sister to Gr1 Doomben Cup runner-up Octapussy (Octagonal), the dam of three stakes winners including Pussy O’Reilly (O’Reilly) and Pussy Willow (O’Reilly).
Pineau is also a half-sister to Melbourne winner Our Riesling, the dam of Gr3 Manawatu Classic winner Valpolicella (Red Ransom), the dam of Gr2 winners Vavasour (Redoute’s Choice), Catalonia (Commands) and Gr3 winner Celebrity Dream (Thorn Park).
The granddam is New Zealand Gr2 winner Dopff (Tights).
Gr1 winner Tavistock (Montjeu) was euthanised at Cambridge Stud in New Zealand in December 2019 as a result of injuries incurred in a paddock accident eight weeks earlier.
