Thursday’s Gr2 May Hill Stakes (8f) for 2yo fillies at Doncaster winner Indigo Girl is SW188 for Dubawi.
Relaxed in last place early, Frankie Dettori delivered Indigo Girl to challenge two furlongs out and the filly finished strong to defeat Dubai Fountain (Teofilo) by three-quarters of a length with Zabeel Queen (Frankel) third.
Raced by breeder George Strawbridge, Indigo Girl is inbred to Shirley Heights and has won both her starts.
Indigo Girl is a sister to Gr1 Champion Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot winner Journey and a half-sister four other winners including Travelling Man (Oasis Dream), a winner in France and Gr2 placed in the Grand Prix de Deauville and Prix Vicomtesse Vigier.
Their dam Montare (Montjeu) won the Gr1 Prix Royal Oak as well as the Gr2 Prix de Royallieu and two runnings of the Prix du Conseil di Paris. She is a half-sister to French Listed placed Destare and to Salutare, the dam of Gr2 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket winner Worth Waiting (Bated Breath).
The granddam Contare (Shirley Heights) won the Listed Prix Casimir Delamarre at Longchamp.
Indigo Girl’s dam is by Montjeu (Sadler’s Wells) and Dubawi has Gr1 winners Ghaiyyath, Night Of Thunder, Hunter’s Light, Too Darn Hot, Arabian Queen, Left Hand, Monterosso, Old Persian and Wuheida.
