Terzetto is SW172 for Deep Impact winning Saturday’s Gr3 Lord Derby Challenge (1600m) at Nakayama.
The four-year-old was worse than midfield passing halfway before gradually creeping closer before the home turn. Brought widest of all into the home straight Terzetto finished strongly to defeat Catedral (Heart’s Cry) by a length with Bom Servico (Daiwa Major) close up third just ahead of My Style.
It is the fifth win from six starts for the Northern Farm bred filly, a three-quarter sister to Gr1 winner and sire Real Impact, the Yushun Himba winner Loves Only You and the Japanese Listed winner Prodigal Son.
Her granddam Loves Only Me (Storm Cat) was unraced and a half-sister to European Champion 2YO Filly Rumplestiltskin (Danehill) and to the Gr1 Yorkshire Oaks winner Tapestrty (Galileo) and Irish Gr3 winner and sire John F Kennedy (Galileo).

Terzetto’s dam is by Danehill Dancer (Danehill) and Deep Impact has Japanese Champion 2YO Satona Ares out of a Danehill mare as well as the 2000 Guineas winner Saxon Warrior and Champion 2yo colt Danon Premium with Danehill as their maternal grandsire. Champion sprinter Mikki Isle is by Deep Impact out of a mare by Rock Of Gibraltar (Danehill).
Deep Impact has eight Gr1 winners out of Storm Cat mares notably the Prix du Jockey-Club winner Study Of Man and Champions Kizuna and A Shin Hikari with Storm Cat also in the pedigree of Beauty Parlour and Contrail among others.
