Explosive Witness is SW17 for Star Witness winning the Gr3 Bauhinia Sprint Trophy (1200m) at Sha Tin on New Year’s Day.
Explosive Witness was never far from the lead in the small field and came through under a drive over the final 200m to defeat Stronger (Not A Single Doubt) and Big Party (Exceed And Excel) in a bunched finish.
It is the fifth win from 15 starts for the five-year-old.
Explosive Witness is one of three winners for Rocket Baby (Danzero), the third-dam dual Gr3 winner Rockets Galore (Whiskey Road), winner of the Moonee Valley Vase and Diamond Jubilee Stakes at three.
The fourth dam Velvet Rocket (Plush) won in Sydney and Listed placed in the Hall Mark Stakes at Randwick.
Explosive Witness is 4×3 to Danehill and Gr1 winner Star Witness (Starcraft) has Gr2 winners Graff and Mella Maria bred with duplications of Danehill as well as Listed winners Our Crown Mistress, Cosmic Alert and Pearl Star.
