14th Gr1 for Sea The Stars

Miss Yoda is the 14th Gr1 winner for Sea The Stars following her triumph in Sunday’s Preis der Diana (2200m) at Dusseldorf.

Frankie Dettori allowed the John Gosden-trained Miss Yoda to bowl along in the lead after halfway before increasing the tempo into the home straight.

Miss Yoda was challenged 200m out and lugged out under pressure before surging again and at the line had three-quarters of a length to spare over Zamrud (Samum) with Virginia Joy (Soldier Hollow) a nose away third.

Bred by Gestüt Etzean, Miss Yoda was bought by Blandford Bloodstock for €280,000 at the BBAG September Yearling Sale, where she was the joint sale-topper.

She is out of the Gr.2 Diana Trial winner Monami (Sholokhov), rated the Champion 2YO Filly in Germany in 2011 and a half-sister to the then Gr1 Oaks d’Italia winner Meridiana (Lomitas), the dam of US Listed winners Chamois (Smart Strike) and Infinite Wisdom (Smart Strike).

Champion Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) is advertised at €150,000 at Gilltown Stud in Ireland in 2020.
