Stylistique is SW146 for Dansili winning Tuesday’s Prix Petite Etoile (1900m) at Deauville.
Settled in second place early, Stylistique (pic Equidia) was ridden along into the home straight and after reaching the lead 200m out staved off the challenges of Perfect Inch (Dark Angel) and the favourite Vadsena (Siyouni) to score by 1-1/4 lengths.
It is the second win from 13 starts for the Roger Varian-trained Stylistique, previously Gr2 placed in the Gr2 Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket last season at two.
Racing in the colours of breeder Yvonne Jacques, Stylistique is one of two winners out of Sleek (Oasis Dream), a winning sister to Gr3 Balanchine Stakes at The Curragh winner Bye Bye Birdie, the dam of this year’s Gr3 St Leger Trial at The Curragh winner Delphi (Galileo).
The granddam Slink (Selkirk) is an unraced sister to Champion French 2YO Filly of 2001 Sulk and a half-sister to Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf winner Dank (Dansili) and Gr1 Hong Kong Cup winner Eagle Mountain (Rock Of Gibraltar).
Dansili (Danehill) was pensioned from active duty at Banstead Manor Stud in 2018. His son Bated Breath has last season’s Gr2 Rockfel Stakes winner Daayeh out of a mare by Oasis Dream (Green Desert) and Dansili sired the 2018 Rockfel winner Just Wonderful with Green Desert as her maternal grandsire.
Dansili also sired Gr2 winner Shaweel with Green Desert as his maternal grandsire and as a broodmare sire has Gr2 winner Tropbeau by Showcasing (Oasis Dream).
Dansili is also the broodmare sire of this season’s Gr1 Haydock Sprint Cup winner Dream Of Dreams, whose sire Dream Ahead has Green Desert as his maternal grandsire.
Stylistique’s three-quarter brother by Bated Breath is catalogued as lot 821 in Tattersalls December Sale.
