Gothic Stakes winner Endanger is SW142 for Medaglia d’Oro winning the Gothic Stakes (1400m) for 3yos at Caulfield.
Settled along the inside before halfway, Endanger was angled out into running room around the home turn then came with sustained challenge to overwhelm Osamu (Exceed And Excel) in the concluding stages to score by half a length.
It is the second win from three starts for the Godolphin-homebred, a three-quarter brother to Gr3 Manfred Stakes winner Java.
He is the only foal to race for Gr2 Dane Ripper Stakes winner Hazard (Flying Spur), a half-sister to Java (Medaglia d’Oro), Gr3 Auraria Stakes at Morphettville winner Crucial (Nadeem) and Gr3 Ottawa Stakes at Flemington winner Antelucan (Domesday).
The granddam Dawn Attack (Fantastic Light) was unraced and a sister to Irish Derby winner and sire Desert King (Danehill).
Now a permanent resident at Darley’s Kentucky farm, Medaglia d’Oro currently has 142 stakes winners from 1471 runners.
