Sunday’s Gr2 Prix du Conseil de Paris (2200m) at ParisLongchamp winner Baron Samedi is SW10 for Harbour Watch.
Settled in third place by Mickael Barzalona, Baron Samedi made smooth progress to challenge for the lead 200m, gradually overwhelming Mare Australis (Australia) to score by a head with Eudaimonia (Vision d’Etat) in third.
It is the fifth win from 10 starts for Baron Samedi, a 3500gns Tattersalls foal.
He is one of two winners out of Dame Shirley (Haafhd), a sister to Gr3 Meydan Sprint winner Fityaan.
The granddam Welsh Diva (Selkirk) won the Gr3 Premio Sergio Cumani at Milan and a sister to Gr2 Prix du Rond-Point winner Trans Island.
The third-dam Khubza (Green Desert) is a half-sister to Gr2 Goldene Peitsche winner Barrow Creek) and Gr2 Victress winner Last Resort (Lahib), the dam of Gr2 Commonwealth Stakes at Keeneland winner Rebellion (Mozart).
Gr2 winner Harbour Watch (Acclamation) also shuttled to Australia and was retired from active duty at Tweenhills Stud in England in 2017.
